Our Mission

Our mission contributes to multiple SDGs, particularly those that promote quality education (SDG 4), decent work and economic growth (SDG 8), reduced inequalities (SDG 10), and climate action (SDG 13). Our strategic approach aligns with Corporate Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) policies, creating shared value by fostering an inclusive digital and green transition that benefits communities and corporations alike.

Kinia’s Approach to Sustainable Impact

Our strategy focuses on developing essential digital, STEM, and green skills for young people and educators.

This approach strengthens communities while supporting businesses in reaching their ESG objectives. By empowering individuals and institutions, Kinia ensures a skilled, diverse workforce prepared to address future sustainability challenges.

  1. Quality Education and Digital Equity (SDG 4): Through digital upskilling and STEM initiatives, we aim to bridge educational gaps, especially in underserved areas. Our programs ensure equitable access to high-quality education, a priority in many corporate ESG commitments.
  2. Economic Growth and Local Resilience (SDG 8): We target economic revitalization in vulnerable communities, such as Ireland’s Gaeltacht regions, aiming to increase employment by 15% by 2025. Corporations looking to bolster local economies can align with Kinia to support regional growth, skill development, and sustainable job creation.
  3. Gender Equality and Diversity (SDG 5, SDG 10): Ireland has one of the EU’s largest gender gaps in STEM. Kinia’s focus on equitable access to STEM education and careers is essential for corporates prioritizing diversity and inclusion within their ESG frameworks. By fostering inclusive pathways, Kinia strengthens representation in high-demand sectors.
  4. Climate Action through Green Skills (SDG 13): Our programs incorporate green technologies and sustainability education, preparing young people to contribute to climate solutions. Corporates committed to climate goals can partner with Kinia to advance environmental knowledge within communities, building a workforce attuned to sustainable practices.

Case Study

Take a moment to watch this powerful video and hear Shaun’s story.

Inspired by a conversation with his youth worker, Mick, where Mick suggested Shaun rap about something personal, he wrote about how his anxiety was negatively impacting him, and his family.

Shaun went on to win Techspacer of the Year during the annual Creative Technology Week Awards, celebrating the innovation and creativity of young people who take part in Kinia’s education programmes.

Shaun has since voiced a campaign for Kinia called #FlipTheScript, which aims to show how Kinia empowers young people to unlock their passions and potential through the creative use of technology. The creative animation and rap visualises how perceived negatives in teenage behaviours can, with the right tools and support, become positives for young people on their journey in creating their own brighter future. The campaign is currently on radio, VOD, digital and social.
