Numeracy Programme

Kinia’s aim is to support children from disadvantaged settings to realise their rights and achieve their full potential through education.

In the Irish context, its interventions have focused on the development of core literacy and numeracy skills targeting those at high risk of school failure – struggling learners in designated disadvantaged DEIS schools.

We support numeracy development through our Maths-Whizz Programme, which offers primary schools access to the Maths-Whizz platform.
Each year, a limited number of fully funded licences are available for schools to take advantage of this valuable resource.

Whizz Education’s Education Success Partner is in touch weekly with the data for our schools and we have meetings on a termly basis.

You can purchase a numeracy package to support a school in your local community through our online shop – kinia.ie/shop

Literacy Programme

Kinia is a nonprofit organisation dedicated to reducing educational inequality across Ireland.

Kinia’s Reading Buddy Programme operates nationwide, supporting primary-level students who face challenges with reading.

Currently, one in ten children in Irish schools struggle with serious literacy issues, and in some disadvantaged areas, this figure rises to nearly one in three. These challenges can have lasting impacts on their future opportunities, which is why Kinia is committed to making a difference.
